Hanabi Card Game

Hanabi is a uniquely brilliant cooperative card game that won the Spiel des Jahres, the world’s most prestigious board game award, in 2013. Designed by Antoine Bauza and published by R&R Games, the game presents a fascinating twist: players hold their cards facing outward so everyone else can see them, but the player holding them cannot. Players must work together to assemble a fireworks display in the correct order by giving limited clues to their teammates. Each turn, a player may give a clue about either color or number to another player, discard a card to regain a clue token, or play a card to build the fireworks sequence. Communication is severely restricted to only the clues given during the game. This constraint creates a deeply satisfying puzzle that requires careful memory, deduction, and teamwork. Hanabi is suitable for ages 8 and up and plays in 25 to 30 minutes. It is exceptional at any player count within the supported range of 2 to 5 players.
